It just rams home how he doesn’t belong.

This is a lovely fic for anyone who has ever questioned whether they are queer enough to belong in the queer community. You are, and this fic will remind you of it whenever you need it.

Absolutely adorable! Friends pining on each other is always such a nice trope to read. Seeing the development of their relationship was really cute, and this fic is more than worth a shot, considering Niall’s special additions.

This fic is a little heartbreaking, considering how Louis' own family might reject him for something he doesn’t have a choice in, however it was extremely cute how Harry, Zayn and Liam were there to always protect Louis.

Her coming out and later encouragement of Louis’ sexual experimentation is kept lighthearted and fun, guaranteed to leave you smiling.

This fic was an adorable coming out between friends, coupled with a love confession. Light on the angst, but heavy on the heartwarming.

This fic portrays a common scene in the lgbtqia community. It’s about when you like someone, but are still in doubt about your sexuality, and it makes you behave unkindly towards your loved ones. However, in reality as in fiction, love always wins.

Harry constantly validates Louis on bad days and is just there from them constantly. Louis may be a star, but to Louis, Harry is a supernova. The one where ot5 isn’t cis, Louis has the best friends someone could ask for and makeup is in there somewhere.

We all want to love and to be loved, not in the same ways for sure, but we are always looking for love. This fic presents a beautiful relationship between our beloved ot5 boys and shows how the ones who love you will always be there for you. The most special part of the fic is that none of them are cis, making it a unique setting in the 1d fan fiction world.

The result: Lots of laughter and tears and confessions and love and Christmas feelings, a dog and a very important question.

Despite being a Christmas fic, this one is just perfect for the pride rec. It’s wonderfully fluffy, with just the right amount of angst to keep you on your toes. The author manages to write about different coming out experiences — how easy it can be sometimes, and how hard it can be at other times — and wraps it all up with a pretty bow and happy end.

It’s very reassuring, in a warm hug kind of way, to read an “older” character going to pride for the first time – thank you for the reminder that everyone has their own time, author!

That’s how it was, and they both knew it. You can text me was for easy things, nothing serious. If it was serious, it got a phone call.

This fic is gentle and sweet and it so beautifully illustrates that coming out is different for everybody. It will make you smile, potentially even giggle, and spread a warmth around your chest that will stay for a while.

Trembling fingers come up to wipe wet tear tracks from the side of her face and over the bridge of her nose, and then she sits up and, roughly – punishingly, almost – wipes the lipstick from over his lips.

It leaves a red print on the white of the tissue paper that has Harry holding the sides of his tummy lest he crumbles to minute pieces and spills to the ground.

This fic feels like a shy little caterpillar making a cocoon in your heart and slowly developing into a gentle butterfly. It’s so incredibly tender and so beautifully written! The author has an incredible way of telling this story without over-explaining anything, simply by letting you understand the characters and their emotions through their actions.

This is going to be an interesting year.

This fic is a dream, featuring all of the good stuff: lots of very different LGBTQ+ characters, obliviously pining roommates and Louis being a menace. Reading it feels like a warm hug that only cliché fics can give you. But as a bonus, it also is a little piece of trans sapphic heaven that fell down from the sky just to make us smile during this pride month.

On the contrary, Louis seems to know what he wants the moment he opens his eyes to the moment they slip shut — and, Harry assumes, probably in between that, too, with the way he clung to his back like he did in his sleep. What he wants is Harry. It’s evident in the way they touch, this mutual desire for each other that makes Harry believe this is what sex is supposed to be like for him. It’s not sucking a straight man off on the muddy tiled floors of a public restroom. It’s not grinding on strangers in a dark crowd, or being picked up in the middle of the night for a quickie in the back of a car solely because it’s in the dark, in secret, and by daylight no one has to know. That by daylight no one will know, not from their end at least. It’s not supposed to be with older men or more experienced men, or men who wear a certain handkerchief in their back pocket, men with wives and children or men with a respectable, high-paying job working for a millionaire. It’s supposed to be with Louis.

A continuation of "Diamonds and Pearls" — In the midst of the AIDS crisis, Harry meets Louis after coming home from a drag ball. 80s NYC AU. 

This fic is unbelievably and contradictorily good: tender and devastating, magical and serious, hopeful and too realistic all at once. It has a wonderful Pose flair (for those who haven’t watched the show: you’re missing out) that’s just brilliant. Reading it will make you feel your heart breaking but getting stitched back up all at once, in an intense and very lovely way.
