So I’ve had the flu for the better part of a week. I’ve had a temperature of 102 and have been just barely shifting in and out of consciousness since Tuesday. Pete hasn’t left my side since I have been sick, which is very sweet. But I think he’s over it now. on my first day of really functional lucidity where I feel capable of working from home (ok, in my bathrobe, on the couch, I’ll grant you, sure, but working nonetheless) I come out of my sickness cave to find Pete has gotten bored and eaten my glasses. And while I am trying to replace said glasses for my trip to Boston in less than a week (and when you have progressive lenses, this timing thing is an issue) he proceeds to go out into the backyard, full on jump the fence, run out into the street, scare the crap out of my neighbor, almost get hit by a car, come home, jump back over the fence then come inside like nothing happened while I am trying to calm the hysterical neighbor on the front porch (in said bathrobe) without having any voice and just miming at her “I’m sorry, I can’t talk, yes, he’s fine, no, I know he’s an asshole, I appreciate you trying to catch him, no, really, he’s just an asshole. I’m so sorry, Thank you so much.” Over and over.....
