Personally, I have yet to find quality care in the past six months. I have however dealt with a lot of bureaucratic barriers, unprofessional or overwhelmed service providers, run-down facilities; and i’ve met with one therapist who was frankly more depressed/apathetic than i was at the time.
It’s a bit maddening trying to find adequate care from qualified, knowledgable therapists who are also accepting patients.
With the proposed legislation in Congress, the state of mental health is likely to worsen still; expect decreased access and affordability of healthcare, subsequent rises in medical debt and disparity, and increases preventative illness and death. I can only predict, as an unfortunate result, the continued escalation of violence we’ve seen recently, and no abatement to homelessness.
