Scott was nervous. How did he let his friends fiancee talk him into going out with one of her friends. He never did blind dates whatsoever, but he was convinced afterall he had been back in the states over a year from his tour of duty in the Marines and he had been so busy pulling his life back together and reconnecting with his brothers that his own social life became almost nonexistent. So as his friend made a reservation for them at a restaurant they knew they both would like Scott arrived a little early and was taken to sit at a nice table near the window that had a beautiful view of the city. Now that he was here Scott began to start over thinking if he had dressed up too much as he was wearing a nice charcoal gray suit as he shifted in his seat a little trying to regain his composure. he had fought in a war and he was nervous about a date. God he felt pathetic.

He had taken his weapon to a gunsmith with an international reputation for quality work.  He was not at an outdoor shooting range, the three hundred meter target set up for him.  He has his rifle case and duffle bag on the ground beside him, the case open.  He puts on the required eye and ear protection, then lifts the rifle out of the case.  After checking that it is unloaded and on safety, he reaches into the duffle, lifts out a magazine of ammunition, inserts it into the weapons magazine well, slaps it home, then pulls the rifle's charging handle.  He keeps the rifle pointed downrange, waiting for the range master to declare that it is safe to begin firing.  He thinks, "Well Melody, I guess we will see if that man's reputation is deserved or not."
