TOUGH BRISTLES CEASE THEIR SCRAPING against dirty floorboards. sophie turns her attention towards the doorway, where it had swing open with such force, she wondered how it could possibly remain on its hinges! but that is howl for you - ever one for the dramatics. brown eyes sweep his features from head to toe, and she wishes she hadn't.
"oh, you!" hands raise the broom as if to swat in his direction. her bones ached enough! and here he is, tracking in mud and soil and muck!
"you are the problem!" she croaks, her voice only willing to rise so high in her elderly state. she clucks her tongue, one hand going to her hip as she assesses him again. he appears in fine health, no scrapes or bruises, no sneezes. it would appear her statement was correct, though she should really give him an opportunity to explain. howl wasn't all that bad, after all. just a bit of a slitherer-outer and a slob.
"what is it now? can't remember a spell to keep your lashes plump and pretty?"
