what’s weird to me is that this isn’t SU’s writing style at like, at all. They’re usually have pacing better than this. It took us an entire bomb to get the PD reveal and another entire bomb to get Garnet back. Why is this episode so rushed?

GOOD QUESTION.

It feels like this entire episode should have been a bomb in itself, so we could have proper time to deal with ‘Blue and Yellow wander and see the damage they’ve caused’, Lapis and Peridot’s return, Steven decides to go to Homeworld and finishing with the big WD reveal.

it was break neck fast, yeah. It feels like there should have been way more happening in between the start and end of that episode.

SERIOUSLY THOUGH. I’m sitting watching and…okay, Blue and Yellow are just hanging around, and now Centipeetle/Nephrite is sort of healed but she’s not, and oh I guess we’re flying off in Pink’s Ass Spaceship, and oh fuck there’s White Pearl and she’s seriously unsettling AND OH HI I GUESS THERE’S WHITE FUCKING DIAMOND.

That’s a whole bloody lot to throw at us in eleven goddamn minutes and not to go all #su critical but remember when the show took its time to tell the story, and paced out big events and twists? That. I miss that. Because  lot of the event that we’ve just been handed feel like they’ve missed their big impact since we’ve had only barely minuets to soak it in before the next big thing was happening.

@yamadara87 Thank you!! Like I said, I can’t take credit for the idea behind this fic, but I had fun contrasting Michiru with Chibi-Usa, and I’m glad you liked it!

@sittingoverheredreaming Thanks!! I was quite proud of that line so I’m glad you picked it up haha. Also, Michiru like ALWAYS drinks either tea or wine in my fics because they’re so Refined. I feel like she dislikes the brashness of coffee and gets really into subtle tea flavors that I have 0 chance of understanding as a non-tea-drinker.

@presidentnerd I’m glad you saw it and liked it! I was worried you’d be mad I used your idea without really asking first 😅 I didn’t even consciously think about it but you’re so right, Michiru probably gets sketchbooks and demos thrown her way ALL THE TIME, and thinking on it, I bet she respected that Chibi-Usa never tried to do that. That’s what separates her—she just loves to draw, but at this point it’s not really for notoriety or compliments, it’s just a passion, and I think Michiru can relate to that. Thank you so much; I’m so glad you like how it turned out!!!

@tabletennishotaru Aw, thank you!! It was a challenge to write Chibi-Usa since I’ve never done so before, so I’m glad I did it well. Poor Michiru probably gets one of those hugs every time Chibi-Usa sees her for years, aha.
