b4 i start rambling i have a few pages up here & here ( <- in this one there’s a few headcannons on the side ) itz a little bit about her

OKAY LET’S BEGIN 

so amelia is a junior at constance and she’s 17

she got that money from her father’s book publishing company and her mum comes from old money.

so she has one older brother and one younger sister ( might be in wc???)

she’s a lil wild bc she absolutely LOVES adventures and making memories i swear and sometimes she forgets that some things are illegal bc she gets so excited

she lives for travelling and knowing new things. that’s why she enjoy books so much ( and since her dad publishes them it’s a win win situation ) . she’ll ALWAYS have a book in hand but she’s not quite a bibliomaniac if you know what i mean. 

also she does wear glasses but prefers contacts ‘cause she always forgets to put them on ( * i do too but i don’t wear contacts so i’m blind )

her mum doesn’t like her lil wild side very much bc she wanted amelia to become like her snobby and practically a mean woman/girl?

despite her lil disagreement with her mother she still loves her. Amelia loves her whole family deeply bc when she loves something she loves something.

her goal in life is to have fun basically? she also is smart ( not albert einsten but good grades smart. )

sometimes she can get stuck in the middle of confusions bc of her stubborn personality or just bc her friends dragged her there ( connection *wink*wink )

in the romantic side she knows she likes boys but she’s still unsure if she’s bi? like she’s still discovering herself

but she had a couple of relationships and she doesn’t regret most of them bc she fell in love broke her heart but that’s the circle of liiiiife

she’s v flirty too when she wants but she avoids manipulating ppl ( well sometimes it’s necessary )

she can be rude at times but she doesn’t mean it

HOME LIFE ;;

Catalina is from Brooklyn, and not the Upper East Side like most of the people she goes to school with.

Catalina has never been very rich, or privileged for the matter. Living in the not so great part of town, you can pretty much consider her to be dirty poor and living in poverty. But, nevertheless, she had a good childhood and upbringing for the most part. She had two parents who loved her and always supported her, regardless of not having much physically. 

During her junior year of High School, her parents began to argue alot. It started off with small things, but escalated to more severe and violent fights. Ultimately, things between the two of them got so bad that one day her mother just left and never bothered coming back.

The absence of their mother greatly impacted her father, and he spiralled into a deep depression because of it. The only way to truly numb the pain from it all was drinking. To put it simply - her father becoming a ranging alcoholic. He quit his job, and stopped caring much about his family. Being the oldest of four children, Catalina naturally has always been motherly and protective of her younger siblings. Now that her father was like this, she basically had to step up and help to raise her siblings since her father wasn’t contributing much to it.  

In addition to her father’s drinking, within the past few months or so, he has began to be abusive towards Catalina. He’s only like this when he’s extremely drunk, but it’s been slowly getting worse and becoming more frequent. No one is aware of the violence that goes on in her home life, and she doesn’t plan on telling anybody anytime soon about it. She fears that CPS will get involved and split her family apart, and she doesn’t want any of that to happen.

SCHOOL LIFE ;; 

The only reason she’s going to Constance is because she is on a scholarship because of her grades. Ever since she was little, her teachers knew she was something special when it came to her academics. Everything came easy to her, and she seemed to be well beyond her years. After taking an IQ test, it was determined that Catalina was a certified genius with an IQ of 195. 

Catalina has already gotten offers from many big name colleges, offering her full rides for her to attend their school. But in all honesty, she really does not have the desire or drive to attend college after she graduates High School. Even though she has gotten so many amazing offers to have a great education after HS, she does not want any part of it. She is not a huge fan of school as it is, and she does not plan on going to college at least at the moment.

As a way to make some extra money, Catalina will write papers, do homework/projects, and take other people’s tests for them. People are aware of her high IQ, and know that she can give them good grades on whatever they please. It’s all easy work for her, so it is a win-win situation on both parties. 

OTHER INFORMATION ;;

Instead of going to college, Catalina plans on pursuing a career in music. Music is something she is much more passionate about than education and school.

She is the lead singer of a punk rock band (name TBD!). They have performed at local gigs/venues, and Cat’s ultimate goal is to get her name out in the music industry and be noticed by someone so her and her band can get signed and be off to greater things.

her dad named her after shell gas station because he thinks its quality and bc why the hell not

her mom vanished into the night when she was like 2 years old and now lives in florida which shell hates with a burning passion

born laurel danielle barlett, she is the only daughter of simon barlett, the heir of a diamond cartel, the barlett family controls about 60% of the diamond trade. usually working with high end designers like harry winston, cartier, among others.  her mother passed away when she was born ( or so she believes  the reality is that she left. ) for as long as she remembers it’s always just been the two of them. she’s grown up with a silver spoon in her mouth, practically having the world at her feet and with an over-protective father it is no wonder as to why she’s as naive as she is.

being left by his wife became a huge scandal one that he managed to cover using his influences, he is heavily involved in politics and while he isn’t a politician himself he is famous for supporting campaigns of those he deems worthy. the name barlett is known world wide, and there really isn’t any door that the last name will not open. old money, they are a class of people who have always lived in wealth, don’t know any other life style and as such they can be shown to have prejudices towards those who don’t something that rory has inherited without actually realizing it.

nothing short of a princess, she’s someone who’s never heard the word no. which is just her father’s way of compensating for his noticeable absence throughout her life, while she is nothing short of adored, her father has buried himself in his work and usually leaves for months at a time which has left rory in the hands of the house staff. so she relishes the moments she does get to spend with him and while she pretends to be okay with his absence she is resentful of it from time to time. always watched, because dear old dad has this obsession of keeping her in a bubble, it all stems from his wife walking away from them. he doesn’t want her to know pain which has caused her to live in a world of fairy-tales and magic

naive, and innocent may be two of her defining traits but what surprises many is her vast intelligence. quite the little genius she is one of the top students in her class and is very much determined to become a bio-medical engineer her eyes are on john hopkins university. her extra-curricular activities are impressive, always involved in school funded events she is usually the one at the front planning them and she’s a big part of student government among other clubs. she is very much the achieving type, she is hard working and passionate in everything she does. which may cause her to come across as neurotic from time to time. however she is extremely kind. the kind that makes people believe they can take advantage of her. wants to save the world, she is extremely charitable especially when it comes to animals. she’s funded several different charities dedicated to rescuing them and finding good homes as well as supports many others. which has made her a well - known figure, a feminist at heart, works with unicef and other organizations. which has allowed her to travel and mingle with the some of the world’s most educated and respected people. 

never runs out of second chances, and is the first person to sacrifice herself for a friend. while she’s willful and spoiled her heart is always in the right place and she’ll usually get herself into all sorts of trouble because of her curious nature. frantic and always running late, like you’ll usually see her asking what time it is because she can’t make it anywhere to save her life. loves to read, her nose is usually stuck in a book most of the time and fantasy is her favorite, a big fan of the harry potter series and game of thrones books. and disney she absolutely loves disney. thinks she’s a princess… she’ll talk anyone’s ear off about them or about anything really.

quirky and very much someone who’ll say things that sound like they have a double meaning without actually wanting to. ( she’ll catch herself and try and run away tbh. ) a bit of a clutz she’ll trip over things constantly and is usually a bit of a walking disaster something like a danger magnet which she doesn’t mean to be. innocent in every aspect especially romance, she’s unexperienced and usually claims she has no time for such things but it’s simply the fear of getting close to someone in that way. she doesn’t believe people her age can fall in love and she’s very much stuck to that way of thinking her entire life. which also has not let her experiment with her sexuality or anything of that nature so if asked she’ll probably say “no labels.” just because she doesn’t know what likes and what she doesn’t like dude to lack of experience.

vivacious and outgoing, she loves fashion and will very much act like the girliest of girls if given the chance to. an eternal cheerleader she believes in building people up not tearing them down, and while she does use sarcasm from time to time she believes that those who use it often lack imagination. but she does have wit, and she’ll use it often along with hiding behind her books it is something of a defense mechanism for her. 100& a good girl, does what she’s told, when she’s told and will do her best to follow every rule that’s been set out for her. she wants to make her father proud. gentle is not a word used to describe her ever, in fact she’s quite easily moved to anger and she can and will react violently which is a contradiction to her usual personality. she is kind but lacks in patience and she won’t hesitate to show it.

vanderbilt is a name everyone in america knows, for sure. charles vanderbilt, ceo and founder of the vanderbilt banks of america, is an insanely rich man who’s always busy, always travelling, always doing whatever he can in order to make more money. that does not mean he is a bad person, however - if you ask levi, he will say, without a doubt, that he loves his old man... he just doesn’t respect him, ever since he found out his father has been having multiple affairs all over the globe, when away from home. the worst part: his mom knows about that, and she sucks it up in order to keep their family image good. levi has confronted the woman many times, but as the good trophy wife elise is, she always smiles and tells him everything is fine.

levi is very charming, that’s probably his number one trait. and, with that in mind, he can turn into a bit of a manipulative person, always using his smile and sweet-talking to get things to run his way. if that makes him a bad person? i wouldn’t say that. he is also extremely caring and protective when he loves someone, and if you’re his friend, he is usually a very good one. note i said usually.

levi met tyler when he was seven. the two hit it off right away, becoming best friends instantly. they did everything together and, being as charming as levi was, he was always the social butterfly out of the two. if they went to parties, it was because of levi. if they met important people, it was because of levi. tyler’s friends were levi’s first, and that was okay, levi was happy being tyler’s way into the group. what tyler got before levi could, however, was stella. his best friend and the girl started dating towards the end of middle school, and well, she was hot. she was very pretty, and levi was happy for his friend. the three of them became a little group, always hanging out, travelling together... everything was fine, until suddenly, it wasn’t. one night, after a dinner with lots of wine, tyler passed out on levi’s couch and then he was alone with stella. one thing left to another and... well, they slept together, right in the other room. it has been going on for months now and levi feels awful, but he also can’t seem to let her go.

he is the captain of the swimming team and he loves sports in general, but he is not very “sporty”. levi’s got more of a classic rockstar look, always wearing his raybans and chewing gun (tbh he looks like an asshole).

due to the pressure levi is constantly put under by his father and, after finding out he is the main reason why his father got his mother trapped in an unhappy marriage, levi recently turned to heavier drugs to cope. it’s mostly cocaine when he is feeling down, but he also smokes a lot of pot.

after a huge fight with stella, the two of them came to terms that their relationship was no longer based on sex, the girl told him she loved him but levi couldn’t said it back. despite that, he told stella he wants to be with her and the two made things official at the debutant ball recently. he and tyler got in a fight the day before that, and haven’t spoken ever since.
