As a birthday treat (and because of the release of Bridge of Storms) I have been rereading the Mortal Engines quartet by Philip Reeve.

I love this series so much and I had a lot of fun drawing the people that would populate this world.

Hester Shaw is such a complex character, I can’t articulate how much I love her. Drawing her was tricky but hopefully I did her hideous face justice, no designer scars over here (à la the movie adaptation.)

Still, it's one of my favorite book series. I love the quick pacing, the world-building, the intertwining of different character's perspectives, the way everything builds and builds to a climactic ending, and of course the relationship between Tom and Hester.
