RP: A Lesson of Cybers and Magicks
Starring: Cyborg and Raziel
Warnings: none
Raziel and Cyborg explain their differences to each other.
* Cyborg is bored. It was nice to stay with these people she knew, and to be accepted enough to help them with what they needed. It was also nice to finally have an audience for the food she made but… well, truth be told a life of wandering made it hard to settle in one place too long.
[Cyborg] If it wasn’t for that upcoming event… still need to go back to E-F23. Something’s got to be there still, in a memory. Maybe.
* Cyborg has perched herself on a roof edge along the outside of the Castle area. It was hard to reach unless you could fly. Or climb. Or jump really high. So really it wasn’t very private at all in a settlement of mages and Nights who could easily make machinery to get her up here.
[Cyborg] … I should find a new spot to think really. That’d relieve the boredom.
*Raziel walks up the final steps towards the castle main gates, gently humming a tune as he buries his nose into a book Krauzer gave him which he’d be reading in the nearby forest, Thaum magic was an interesting concept.
[Raziel] *mutters to himself* Curious and curiouser, wonder if I can combine these concepts…. *continues thinking aloud*
* Cyborg catches sight of the movement and lazily looks down, perking up as she realises this is not someone she knows… Should she tell someone? She didn’t quite know if they were to still be on guard for Statespeople… yet this one didn’t look… State.
[Cyborg] Hm… well, who are you?
* Cyborg decides that the best way to find out would be to drop in and say hello. So she slides herself off the roof and drops the full way to the ground below, her cybernetic legs absorbing the impact as she lands.
*Raziel looks up briefly to spot someone jumping from the roof. He jumps back as they land and drops into a defensive stance, book pressed close to his chest and other arm extended towards the stranger.*
[Raziel] Who are you? An ally of Castle Oakheart?
* Cyborg straightens up and raises her arms above her head, stretching as she takes in their appearance. They seemed… trustable?
[Cyborg] I am. Are you? I don’t think I’ve seen you about before… and I’ve known the Crew for a while now. Although granted the move kind of means everything’s been hectic for a while.
* Cyborg notices him pressing the book close to him. She grins.
[Cyborg] I don’t think K will like you using that as protection.
*Raziels shoulders drop with relief at finding there is no danger, he now gets a chance to get a look at the mysterious person. His eyes can’t help but catch the interesting object over her ear , an ear-ring perhaps?. And her eye as purple as an amethyst, is that another type of magic?*
[Raziel] Oh thank goddess for that! I’m not exactly in the best condition to fight right now. I’m afraid to say I don’t know much about a move but I am a member of the castle.
*Raziel bows politely towards the young woman*
[Raziel] I’m Raziel, I joined the castle crew a week or so ago. A pleasure to meet you
* Cyborg nods.
[Cyborg] Predicted Unit: Cyborg… erm, but people call me Cyborg. For obvious reasons.
* Cyborg touches her earcap, indicates the eye. She puts her hands into her pockets.
[Cyborg] A week huh… I guess I was away walking around for the last three moonrises… sorry I’ve not said hello yet. Until now.
[Raziel] No need to apologise, if this ‘move’ was recent then no doubt you’ve been busy. But i must ask…. *He looks up at the height that Cyborg dropped from to where she was now* How on earth are your legs still functioning or even attached after a drop like that?
* Cyborg gives a mischievous grin.
[Cyborg] Because this.
* Cyborg crouches slightly, then leaps straight up, pushing her servo-enhanced cybernetics hard to lift her much higher than any average human. As she comes back down the noise of the shock absorbers is just a bit more audible
[Cyborg] I’m not exactly 100% pure human… as I say, I’m called Cyborg for a reason.
*Raziel's eyes are still wide open from the sudden demonstration, he comes to after she uses the word again ‘Cyborg’ he raises an eyebrow in confusion*
[Raziel] Apologies, Cyborg, but I’m from another world and I actually have no idea what one of those are *He chuckles awkwardly* Cyborg...is that a type of magic user? Or perhaps something to do with that ‘Sci-ence’ that Nights was on about?
[Cyborg] Erm… yeah more science than magic. I’m basically born human but enhanced with robot parts… erm, metal and wires and machinery. Because I sort of needed to be. For… health reasons.
* Cyborg looks sort of awkward, this wasn’t really a part of her memory history she wanted to share with many people.
[Cyborg] I don’t really have magical ability that I know of. I just run and leap and use my sword if I need to. But… maybe in your word science is as magic can be to us - unknown and mysterious if you’re not used to it.
*Raziel listens carefully and can’t help but smile as Cyborg talks. A biological human, partly altered with metal and technology? This world gets more interesting by the day*
[Raziel] Well a good swordsman or woman is just as necessary as a good mage. I’m currently attempting to be both. But I do agree with your statement of magic and mystery *He looks back at Krauzers book, the title ‘thaumatargy’ printed on its front* only in this case, we still had much to learn about our magic, and now I find myself in this new world with even more variations. Its enough to give a man a headache.
* Cyborg shrugs.
[Cyborg] Hey, you’ve time. Don’t feel you need to learn it all at once, the joy’s in learning things at your own pace. I mean, I’ve done some light reading on Thaumatic elements too from one of K’s books. One I… I borrowed.
* Cyborg looks guilty for a brief second.
[Cyborg] I mean, I might not be magical but any knowledge can be of use at some point. Just enjoy the learning and do your best not to set anything on fire. Or blow something up. Besides, sometimes you learn by practice as well. I’m not a formally trained swords-person but I have a style. I’m a quick dodge, a swift striker… that’s what comes from having to learn how to use it.
* Cyborg looks up at the Castle for a second.
[Cyborg] There’s a lot of bonuses from sticking in a group, but equally in going it alone. Don’t be afraid to explore this world if you get the chance. It’d probably do you some good.
*Raziel grins at the final sentence.*
[Raziel] oh don’t you worry, I’m going to make the most of out this and see all I can of this new world! But before I can do that I do have a debt to repay to Nights & if anything I’m a man who pays his debts.
*Raziel looks inside the castle before returning to Cyborg*
[Raziel] Besides, these are good people, I’d like to get to know them and learn what I can from them first.
* Cyborg shrugs.
[Cyborg] That’s fair. I keep coming back here because the Crew are a group I can trust. That and it’s nice to keep them informed about things I’ve seen that they might not have while I was off walking. Speaking of which, I think I need to remind Lartin of a promise he made… I’ve somewhere to go.
* Cyborg begins to walk off.
[Cyborg] If you find a beachside cafe when you go wandering, that’s mine. Stop by, I’ll provide some fruit juices.
*Raziel smiles*
[Raziel] You have a deal my friend. & on that note I will leave you to find Lartin. Perhaps next time we meet we can trade some world stories or spar?
[Cyborg] I’d prefer the stories. I love to share information, not so fond on using my sword unless I have to.
[Raziel] Stories it is then.
[Cyborg] Enjoy your reading.
* Cyborg begins to run and leaps onto a nearby roof, climbing higher and disappearing into a window.
