Anjali Mudra is a gesture of reverence to the divine, of honoring, offering and celebrating that divinity within. When practicing Anjali Mudra, the body and mind are completely present and focus on it. The way I have learned to practice Anjali Mudra (from my teacher Ushaji), which is the way I feel it more powerfully, is to bring the hands together touching all the four corners with each other, with the forearms under the chest slightly moving the ribs down, pressing the thumbs against the sternum and keeping the other fingers together pointing slightly forward. The elbows open to the sides, the shoulders always roll back and the shoulderblades move down.
