          HIS elongated eyelashes flutter as he eyes several more people, before sighing and crossing his arms. the music was obnoxiously loud, there were hardly any sober people left on the floor, and the stench of the crowded club was becoming unbearable for him. he sighs irritably, turning to look at kaze.

       A shiver runs through her as droplets of water trickle their way through whatever gaps in her clothing they find–neither her cloak nor the loose tunic she wears underneath it offer much protection from the elements (she supposes it’d help, in the long run, if she drew up her hood, but she has little desire to dump what water has collected within it down her backside). A cloth being draped over her head, blocking the worst of the rain from landing on her directly, has her glancing up at the ninja with a mixture of gratitude and concern.

  Frantic pleas for forgiveness flew from unbidden lips. Freshly-washed pillows built vain fortress, surrounding the two allies. Gathering fresh dust from afternoon stragglers’ boot-prints, Felicia knew she would have to spend the night whacking the pile until they shone pearly white.   Another ‘sorry’ perched on the tip of her tongue – a fledgling bird with wet wings and great expectation on its back – was quickly swallowed. Kaze spoke, and she was still. (For someone whose affinity was ice, the burn that emblazoned her face was anything but chilled.)

  ‘ I-I wouldn’t say     that, if I were you! ’

  Breakfast, preparation, meat and eggs – eggs, eggs, she was scrambled, clambering about to sort meaning into expression. Kaze’s smile was reassuring and calm, while she exuded the opposite of his innate poise. Her grip tightened on his arms for a fraction, soon  l o o s e n i n g  as Felicia finally formulated proper sentence.
