Heâs a little bit worried. After all, they may not know each other well, and she may not have wanted anything to do with him for a long time, but Adira doesnât seem quite like herself. Like somethingâs wrong. Quietly, he moves to sit in front of her, soulful eyes surveying her for a moment before he decides to speak (would she even tell him what was wrong? Itâs not like he was demanding it, or expecting anything in return). Maybe it was him. Maybe Adira could sense that Mac hadnât told her the important parts of his past, the deep dark secrets that he kept hidden lest the shame rise up and overwhelm him -- but this probably wasnât about him. It was about her.
âIs-- is something wrong?â
Words werenât his strong suit, but heâs sincere in his enquiry, eyes meeting hers and hands resting where she can take them if she wants.
