Hey everyone!
I just wanted to share this video documentation of my time at Brooks + Scarpa. This is only one day that I was able to set up my camera with a little tripod while we were just working on whatever task they had ready for us.

A community of program for art students. The roof plane undulation responds contextually to the landscape. The exposed systems (pipes, structure, air vents) provide an educational environment towards design.
"The new studio Art Hall at Pomona College brings together under one roof art making, art appreciation, and art interaction, reimagining the program and site as the center of life within the campus. The porous nature of the buildings elements are inviting and open, allowing the cross pollination of ideas throughout the campus. Within the art ecosystem, there are very few divisions between disciples, encouraging student to explore new ideas. It is a green, cool, transparent and collaborative atmosphere that serves as a nexus for cross-pollination of ideas from the entire campus." wHy

We drove to high desert test site located in Joshua Tree. #secretrestaurant for “Full Moon Ramen” 150+ people _ #wordofmouth</>
What secret restaurant is an installation in the desert by a designer/cook at wHY. The installation is a 4’ wide by 4’ long and 8’ tall steel box, 4’ below grade and 4’ above. The top wireframe is giving homage to the form below. Exact dimensions of the box below. The wireframe is a beacon in the moon light desert.

I am currently working on a residential house for a site in Chicago by working through the #schematic #design of the project. I began creating a 3D model in #rhino from a construction set in #Autocad. I am now in a red ink phase with the architect Larry Scarpa, and updating the construction set drawings to reflect changes made in the process.

SO-IL
Solid Objectives
A week after the Practice Preview experience and I wish I was back at SO-IL. Such a pivotal trip. This office was filled with such great and young talent, there was no way I wouldn't walk away with new tricks and model making skills. Even though they were engulfed in the final weeks of a competition, feeling quite intimidated, I still felt apart of their project.
(Above Image) Making 1/8th scale models to test out facades.
(Above Image) Walking around Brooklyn with Pietro while carrying wood and twigs we found along the road.
(Above Image) My last night at SO-IL and decided to take this awesome photo, half the office in it.
So glad to be apart of the Practice Preview group at the University of Kentucky College of Design. Extremely happy with what architecture firm I was chosen to do. The atmosphere and the people that made up SO-IL definitely struck more of an interest to further my skills as a designer and one day apply to SO-IL or other amazing firms like this one.

SO-IL (Solid Objectives _ Idenburg Liu)
The main goal for this firm is to design from multiple perspectives and fields of architecture, academia and the arts. Designing and creating with the full intent in how the projects or ideas interrelate with the surrounding world. They work in all types of scales and mediums. Cultural, Urban Design, Institutional, and Commercial are some of the programmatic works they have dealt with. Something that strikes my interest is how SO-IL incorporates, in many projects, immense green areas, spaces, and walls within urban design and smaller architecture. Also, the interactiveness in how one views and inhabits the work spaces and installation pieces. Look forward to seeing the current projects being developed and the inner workings of SO-IL.
SO-IL was awarded the MoMAPS1 Young Architects Program in 2010. The project that won was called Pole Dance. This project is an interactive and multimedia installation (temporary environment) located in the courtyard at MoMA. The installation shows a conceptual relation between humans and structure. Not only was this a piece of work to view but interact with and by playing with the multiple objects, materials, and structure the equilibrium changed constantly. The visitors were able to create and control the outcome of the design by the poles, netting, and bungee cords. Super interactive and an extremely fun environment.
