Waltz In B Minor - Franz Schubert No. 6 from 38 Original Dances
08/07/18
Pieces Learned: 13
Days Left: 176
Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828) was an Austrian composer and despite his tragically short life he is widely considered to be one of the greatest of all composers.
Schubert’s Opus 18 (D 145) consists of 38 pieces and as the name states it is a collection of different dances. The first 12 are waltzes followed by 17 Ländler (which is another traditional couple dance in 3/4 time) and finally 9 Écossaise (which in French means Scottish) was another type of dance in 2/4 time.
This piece was really fun to learn, it’s an enjoyable waltz with a super easy left hand accompaniment and it sounds great.
