i believe this is from the sun, but i need to recheck my sources. scratch that, it’s from metro.

i looked at the actual photo alongside the fotoforensics/ela results because people keep claiming this was “doctored” from another photo with a different girl, and that’s not really what the analysis shows.

for anyone who doesn’t know, ela (error level analysis) highlights differences in image compression. those differences can happen for a lot of reasons. screenshots, reposting, social media compression, cropping, text overlays, stickers/emojis, saving an image multiple times, etc.

looking at these results specifically, the brightest areas are around the phone ui, buttons, icons, borders, and the emoji. that is normal because high-contrast edges naturally show up stronger in ela results. if a person had been cut from a completely different image and pasted in, you’d usually expect to see something much more obvious like one figure compressing differently than the rest of the image, strange glowing outlines around hair or shoulders, or one isolated area standing out dramatically from everything around it.

that isn’t really happening here. both people in the center are compressing fairly similarly and the image itself is already dark, blurry, and heavily compressed. if the claim is specifically that someone took a completely different girl from another photo and pasted zara into this image, these results by themselves do not really support that conclusion.

obviously this screenshot appears to be from a facetime call, which is evident by the emoji in the corner covering part of someone’s camera. because of that, it’s harder to make a 100% definitive determination compared to analyzing an original photo taken directly from a phone. however, based on these results, there still isn’t any indication that anything was digitally altered, cut in, or added afterward beyond the emoji overlay itself.
