Whatās the weirdest thing ever is walking past strangers and taking in their personal scent, just for the matter of seconds. You know, like when you enter someoneās house or apartment and it smells just like them. I think scents can define a person to an extent.
It makes you feel a little bit like that involuntary insight into a house when you walk by at night, the light inside inviting you to risk a glance, just to be met with a brief scene that plays in another personās life. You donāt want to be nosy but they forgot to close the curtains.
Itās like a medley of their life compressed into a single inhale of your nose. Or the essence of it.
Their perfume, their detergent, hair products, candles or incense sticks, a meal they just had, every scent their clothes and hair have been exposed to ever since theyāve last washed them.
And it makes me wonder- if we had the ability to dissect smells that consist of so many different ones only within seconds of having them linger in our noses, how much information would we gain about a completely unknown person? Could we dissect their lives just like that? I wish I had some kind of super power that would help me find out.
Itās also funny youāre kind of nose-blind when it comes to your own scent. What do you think of when you breathe me in? Would it be weird to ask strangers that question? I just really want to find out.

Looking at blood vessels reminds me of highways. Always busy, cars going full speed, like youāre supposed to when you have no (life)time to waste.
Constantly risking to crash, only to defeat our biggest enemy called time.
Traffic jams like dead ends, theyāre the clogged arteries our society doesnāt need because it has no spare seconds, minutes, hours Ā left for it.
Once the traffic stops, a circulation that is not supposed to be disrupted, the purpose is lost.
What are miles and miles of concrete without wheels wearing it away as years go by.
A waste of space, trees could be growing instead. Life could be blooming in the same spot.
A body without a pulse, blood vessels that no longer have crimson liquid circulating through them.
It just equals to a sack of meat. Once the heart stops beating, the magic wears off and itās all cruel reality.
Itās mostly that we connect the heart to either, love and emotions or body functions, like blood circulation.
But it also makes you think, these moments that youāre looking at something, anything, but itās all a giant blur and the focus is much rather on the thoughts in your head you seem to be seeing much more clearly that particular second.
What does an organ have to do with love and emotion?
Or are feelings just another vital function of our body?
Why do we connect the two?
And it wasnāt until last week that I actually became one of those people that open google and take ten minutes to come up with the proper question to ask, just so a search algorithm can give me the answers I need- about something that goes beyond artificial intelligence.
I think thereās no place where my writing becomes as illiterate as in a google search bar.
This website is like a cardiac pacemaker for lazy minds.
Those damn Egyptians. I opened a couple results, ended up kind of frustrated with most explanations, before I found one that actually seemed like something my brain considered worth pondering about.
Long story short, they believed that our little blood pumping organ, that knows all kinds of aches, was the seat of thinking.
Wrong. If it would be, it wouldnāt let itself be injured and damaged so often. A heart is not a rational thing.
But thatās not where it stops. They believed the heart was the source of the soul and memory, emotions and personality.
Once a person passed away, the heart was said to be weighed during judgement after death. It was preserved during mummification, but the brain was thrown away without giving it much more significance.
Is this why we refer to a heavy heart?
And how wrong could they possibly have been? Nowadays we know that the brain is our command center. But does that mean itās more important than the heart?
Why not still throw it out- if mummification was still a thing.
I make most decisions with my heart, not my head.
Iām not a rational person.
Feel or think. Or do we just think we feel?
Letās say you were forced to make a decision but you would have to give up either your brain, or that beating, muscular organ in your chest.
For me that would be quite literally be a no-brainer.

An update.
Iām currently at home, sitting on my leather couch because that makes perfect sense when youāre feeling hot and your skin will stick to the material no matter what. Feels sort of like ripping off a bandaid.
For as long as youāre not moving and are literally glued to your spot itās kinda okay but as soon as you get up, itās that disgusting feeling of the leather slowly parting with your sweaty skin. Better to be fast with that one because I canāt stand it. But this couch is still my favorite spot in the house.
Anyway, I was just laying around and spacing out, taking little mind vacations and thought back to something that hit me a couple of years ago. I still remember that woman I once saw. Think she was a former heart surgery patient or something. Like, she had that scar right where the heart is on her chest and didnāt bother hiding it. She wore it like a badge of honor but beating death is honestly much better than that even.
Oh yeah, now Iām thinking about how I say and write ālikeā too much. But I canāt ever seem to stop, so I guess weāre all just gonna have to live with it.
Guess it can get pretty hard to follow my train of thought too. Because it changes tracks every couple of seconds before it follows the previous one again. Promise Iāll stick to what I was originally gonna talk about (or not).
I admire people like that woman, the kind that manage to look at you with a genuine smile you feel can move mountains, even though itās obvious that theyāve been through a lot of crap- crap that is more substantial than the crises youāve had in your life because eventually you realize everything that has ever made you stare at your ceiling at night instead of sleep, so hard that it almost feels rude even though a ceiling canāt exactly complain about being stared at for too long, didnāt even matter. But we have the tendency to make everything seem worse than it actually is, until we experience something that really shakes our foundation. Theyāre all just subsidiary matters.
The weirdest part was that I felt kind of like a pussy for crying over heartache (and still do) next to someone that had something like a coronary artery bypass graft surgery. But I guess people will at least grant me a nod for saying that they donāt differ too much in a sense where they both concern the heart.
But the most essential thought that crossed my mind that day, yeah I remember writing a blog entry about it as well, is that I think some people are more deserving of a perfect working heart than me and I wish I could give them it. Mine got beat more than it was beating in the past and even now itās just heavy, like cement The Godfather would use to sink one of his henchmen in a river because theyāve been talking too much. For good.
Or maybe it was that I didnāt know what to do with a medically healthy heart because Iāve asked too much out of it. Instead of being grateful that it was still at least beating without complications, Iād constantly cry over that secondary kind of damage that was being done to it. By others and myself. What do you need a heart for if all it does is being stuck in a chest designed for sharp pains and ink stains.
But I know better now. I guess itās about being more grateful for the good things that came to you in life and remembering that there are people out there that have it way worse than you, while you cry over the found and lost of love or money you have too much of or not enough. When I was younger I never really understood what everyone was talking about when they said itās important to be grateful that you and your family are healthy. Now I completely got the hang of it and what it means. Heartache sucks, but it doesnāt make you need a transplant. You can get over it and as much as it feels like you never will and you really want to go back to the time where a bandaid could fix everything and love was something you didnāt care about while going on space adventures with your favorite superhero in your bedroom, thereās hope.
Broken hearts can be fixed as long as theyāre still beating.
Always remember, tomorrow could be the best day. The day to turn your life around.

Waking up in the morning like the time on the display of your phone matters. Why does it matter when thereās none anyway? You have sympathy for this touch screen. Not only sympathy, but you feel for it. Thereās a small crack in the left corner, on the bottom. You dropped it the other day when you were trying to empty your pockets from heavy weight. Fine cracks that spread through the glass and with every concussion they claim more space and depth. Itās not only the collision with concrete that has an impact. It turned more fragile the second it was dropped and itās a little bit like that with humans, too.
An impact that left visible damage but if not handled with care the cracks become bigger, deeper, inevitable and itās a slow process until the glass eventually shatters completely.Ā
Thereās a difference between cracked and broken. Three exclamation points.
And when the breaking point is reached, of course, you make friends with regret and marry insecurity. Should you have been more careful? Should you have paid more attention to the fine cracks while they werenāt fatal?
What if youāre your own cracked smartphone screen? Maybe you shouldnāt have dropped yourself so carelessly.
You wake up to time you donāt have and then you go about your day. Sheets that feel much heavier to lift off you now while they were light on your chest the night before. Like a lullaby clinging to your body, a second skin to feel at home in for as long as you let the world spin on without you.Ā
But as soon as you open the curtains that let you believe it was night instead of day, time to act instead of hide, time to sleep instead of live, you end up realizing you hate when the world spins on without you in it.Ā
Or the fact that it hasnāt been revolving around you in the first place.
Iām gonna rant (obviously trying something new here) and leave a few lines that make the majority roll their eyes at me for being unable to ever let this go but if something is cathartic then itās writing down whatever comes to your mind just so you can be rid of all the unnecessary ballast thatās slowly piling up inside your head and clogging your arteries.
Seeing all the cool kids online do their thing and although I donāt think Iāll (ironically) have my life together before I die and probably need constant adult supervision, Iām just here, unable to unsee the obvious. Oh yeah, this is not a vip invitation to a pity party, this is just me rambling.
While you could imagine Iām used to being called every name in the book or being accused of whatever you can fit in 140 characters, I feel like some things are going too far. Yeah, I put myself out there, but I react to everything negative or positive written about me like a human person. Iām insecure but thatās part of being human and thereās a 80% chance that whatever I read will affect my current mood.
I donāt mind being the villain as long as nobody starts throwing my family, friends or band under the bus but since Iām a grown man with two great kids that require my protection, Iām starting to feel the knot that sits in my stomach grow daily.
Shitty comments like that make me wanna throw up and preferably into the faces of the people that wrote them. Or dunk their head into a toilet for a while. Just to flush down the shit thatās in their heads.
Did I personally insult you? Ā Did I show up in front of your house to insult your parents? Did I ever hit on your girlfriend (or boyfriend duh), did I ever piss on your leg or did you ever get close enough to me to draw your conclusions as to what Iām really like?
Iām the conclusions you draw based off of something that you never witnessed, only read about.
Iām a product of every bad thing that has ever happened to me over the past.
Everyone else knows me better than I do and the people around me. Iām not saying Iām a saint but I have no evil intentions. I make bad choices but never intend on hurting anyone. Things that have occurred or things that I did in the past might be questionable but Iām done with reading this shit about me online. Ā That Iām - supposedly - a pedophile for dating a teenage girl when I was in my early twenties.
I also feel flattered because you have nothing else to do in your life, other than making me the subject of your conversations and poisoning your blood by letting my name linger on your tongue for a second too long. I promise thereās no cure.
Hope youāre having fun discussing Ā how terrible and how gross and how stupid I really am while you could be outside with your friends having a blast.
Iād gladly steal that time away from you and I promise youāll never get it back.
Letās not forget how Iām also the most terrible person youāve ever met- although youāve never met me in the first place. Maybe you should invent something like a Wentz-O-Meter to measure the exact amount of asshole someone has in them. Pretty sure you couldnāt ever use it because it would just explode the second you as much as try. We all know whoās the bigger asshole.
Iām sorry my bandās music offends you because itās not your taste, Iām sorry I offend you by putting out music that doesnāt sound like your favorite record we released, Iām sorry you take every word I say out of context and Iām sorry even the color of my boxer shorts offends you like I only wear them to spite you. Since you happen to dislike red.
Oh yeah, especially the skinny jeans. Iād be offended as well if I had to stare at a 37 year old dude that still wears skinny jeans designed for girls. Because thereās no such thing as choosing the content you want to be looking at online, thereās no escape button. Just like you canāt escape your own disgusting personality. I just like to force myself on as many people as possible. Maybe Iāll hack your computer next. Who knows.
But let me tell you one thing. I have to pick up my son from school, I have to take care of my kids and the moment Iāll hear anyone confront them with their dad supposedly being a pedophile, I will find you and I will give you a real reason to be offended and call me an asshole. I donāt care who you are, what you are or where you come from. Ā Because I will crush you for giving my kids a hard time based off of something you claim their dad is. If we meet off the internet someday and you actually end up having the guts to say these words to my face, you will wish you never met me. You will wish that you would have kept your mouth shut online because we all know how easy it is to fill a blank space with unpopular opinions and hit enter. A space thatās as blank as your empty head and chest.
Iām not all about the drama and violence but when I have to be concerned my kids will end up being the ones suffering from your false accusations, I wonāt even flinch while I show you that you better donāt rub me the wrong way. I will break you. And in such a way that you will never recover from it.
Accusations like those are never easily taken back. Itās up to you to reduce me to the mistakes Iāve made or supposedly made in the past, but this is overstepping boundaries.
Iām too selfish to let anyone win, but me. Ā Youāre not(thing).
You see, you can pretty much only get to me in one department. I donāt fucking care what you think I am or what some mentally impaired numbskull writes about me, but I care about the potential messes you cause for my kids to endure. Luckily everyone Iāve dated since has been off age and I donāt plan on pulling a Hefner anytime soon. Unless you think Iād look good in one of those fancy silk pajamas, because I totally think I could pull it off. Other than that Iām not exactly planning to get involved with anyone whoās still in their teens unless itās a good wine.

If you believe that the past is a concept of time that lies behind you, you're probably just fooling yourself.
It's like the day after a volcanic eruption.
The ashes always settle somewhere.
A gust of wind comes and they never really disappear, they just relocate.
I can't recall how many times my birthday has been forgotten by friends but remembered by strangers.
The world is backwards.
Ever thought about the word 'thanks' and how it oozes with bitter sarcasm?
The worst kind you can spit at anyone.
The only star/scar in my sky constantly feels burned out.
Sorry and thanks.
I'm afraid to get too close and be the one burned in the end.
There are no excuses for it but only reasons for irrational behavior I constantly write off as 'logical' in my head.
In the end I see me in a prison cell with bars cold to the touch, limiting my vision but letting me see so much
Staring over at yours longingly.
I just want to be a part of this world hidden behind transparent curtains.
It's like they're trying to lure me in but still want to shut me out
Call it demented, I call it romantic.
Sometimes I can even call it hope.
