The background music in the short film offers an innocent yet melancholic vibe to the young girl upon learning the death of the man she admires, Jose Rizal and how it ignites a passion within her to become a writer like him to expose the truth about their country. Chok started out as a lighthearted, amusing event of May realizing that her colored chalks are being gone and investigating on whom might be trying to steal it. Upon learning who the thief was and how the brief yet heartbreaking scene unfolds in front of her, the film touches the heartstrings of the teacher and the viewer itself on how the boy longs for his family that he’ll never have once again due to a tragic incident that took both of their lives. Just finished watching this short film and here's my thoughts about it: Noontime drama depicts one of the issues in a Filipino household between a parent and a child when there is a conflicting belief between what a proper woman should be in the society especially if the daughter presents herself in a way that is contrary to what the society and sometimes their own family expects from them.
