Ida Vollmar was born on February 28, 1913, in Archern, Germany. She moved to the States when she was several years old and lived in Manhattan with her family from the late 1910s. She started modeling after graduating from high school and became a Powers girl. She was well known for her legs and achieved some fame as the Chesterfield girl. She married Adolf Beese, assistant vice president of a photographic paper printing factory. She was summed to Hollywood in 1937, but gave up movies after appearing in 5 uncredited roles. She retired from modeling by 1940. She took up modeling again during the war to help the war effort, but after the war ended retired for good. She and her husband moved to California at some point. Ida died there in April 1993.
