RIP Powers Boothe 1948 - 2017
I don’t think a lot of people would know his name, but this guy was a legend to me, and it’s really sad to hear of his passing. I guess the first thing I remember seeing him in was Sin City (2005), which he was fantastic in, and it was awesome that he reprised his role in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014). I enjoyed seeing him in his small role in The Avengers (2012), and it was really cool that they brought him back for a bunch of episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. But what I’ll definitely remember him most for, and why I chose the above photo, is his brilliant performance in Deadwood. He was a great, complex character (as they all were on that show), and he played so well off Ian McShane. If this planned Deadwood movie does come to pass, it’s going to be really sad to not have him be a part of it. He was a class act with an amazing, memorable voice, and it’s going to suck never seeing him again.
