Two sibling born with equally strong telekinetic abilities.
Hero is celebrated by their town. Known to move buildings and stop planes from crash landing.
Caretaker is their lesser-known sibling. They focused on the precision of things. Learned to set bones and pull out shrapnel.
Circumstances change when Hero gets kidnapped. They can feel now badly damaged they are and attempt to patch themself up only ever seeing Caretakers work. (Hero could take down the building while keeping themself safe from the rubble, but it's useless in they can't walk.)
And Caretaker has to chase down Villain and their minions, forced to fight after years of only helping and healing their comrades. Trying to use their power on such a large scope. (Caretaker could break each bone while naming it, but only one at a time and there are 10 people running at them.)
And Hero can't figure out how to target things as small as bones, but they can target chunks of the wall and put them around their legs as make-shift braces.
They both definitely try to just copy what the their sibling does at first, but they realize they have to alter their own powers, not try to use someone else's.
Extra juicy if Villain doesn't know about the sibling and thinks they're weak until they start breaking Villain's bones one by one.
And they both already had mad respect for each others chosen focus, but now they have a respect that can only come from having truly attempted the others abilities.
And then both of them come out stronger than before. Hero learns to move singular rooms out of buildings, instead of the whole thing(contractors are so happy they don't have to rebuild the whole building anymore).
Caretaker starts a free clinic for supers. Even starts venturing onto the battlefield to carry them away when they are too damaged to fight.
They both help with the aftermath in nearby towns. Caretaker helping clear the dust and small rubble so the repairs can start sooner, while Hero helps with the big rubble and putting up walls.
I love some good character growth. Especially without resorting to 'well now they can both do that'.
