Not to be Catholic but I think that especially in the present day with the Catholic Church being like “hey you’ll actually get in trouble for touching kids” I start to wonder what it’s like in independent Protestant churches that aren’t connected to any other church or religious community or higher authority. How it must be to feel utterly alone. Catholic priests have become a joke but there is a particular horror about a pastor that you can’t run from in a church where there is no one to turn to.
