POTENS
Potens are people who can control manifestations energy. They are the result of the influx of unnaturals in the human world. This power is unique from person to person and can be powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands. While everyone is capable of becoming poten, many live their lives as ordinary people.
TYPES
Materialization — Energy concentrated into a material shape.
(Robyn makes a bow and Clarissa makes a baseball bat! )
Elemental — Energy converted into an elemental force. Ice, fire, etc.
(Mark's electrical abilities allow him to communicate technology and senses disturbances in the electromagnetic field. uses that to track unnaturals.)
Manipulation — Ability to use energy as its raw, chaotic form and emit it or use it as strength enhancer.
(Lucas uses his powers to aid his fighter and his favorite is an energy gun.)
How did this happen?
Unnaturals's hearts are a solid crystalized orb called a core. Cores are made up of hundreds of thousands of unnatural energy cells, a cell like structure imbued with supernatural power. Because unnatural have been appearing in the human world, unnatural energy cells can be found inside a person blood! (red and while blood cells!) Luckily for humans, there's not enough in the body to coagulate and become a core (jeez I wonder what would happen if a human had a core😵💫).
These cells sit dormant in every person's body, but once they become active is when a person becomes a poten! it can happen in many unique ways: spontaneously, purposefully, near death, a great life moment, something that causes that "spark" to happen!
Difference between potens and unnaturals
Since unnaturals have cores, they have more power than people but their power sits on a fixed scale (red cores the weakest, violet cores the strongest). Potens dont! their powers aren't fixed to a scale and have the ability to grow and become stronger. Hence the name poten coming from the word potential.
