Interesting question to pose in a situation where there are no winners. Allowing access to private personal data without the subject’s consent is a bad precedent to set. Should there be evidence to give the family of those deceased closure? Can we make this an exception? In my opinion we cannot legislate to allow these breaches and I must say I find myself in agreement with the solution proposed by the author in the article. The concept of online privacy wealth being treated as regular property is one I find very interesting and will no doubt be the subject of debate among legislators for years to come.
