my sister bought these display boxes off amazon and it’s like a little box that sandwiches an object between two pieces of thin plastic wrap. (i assume they were originally intended for stamps or something)
thing is, her amazon order had way more in the box than she realized so now i have free reign with the extras, and i fear i’ve found the inspiration to turn every small object into a museum display.

upon reflection i suspect NASA has had doubts about MSR's viability for a while. why else would they fly ingenuity so much if it was potentially a necessary part of delivering the samples.
the problem is that a mars sample return has always been almost apollo levels of ambitious and the promise of foreign funding for our extremely risky and competitive research technology project in a time of american isolationism and geopolitical tension was never going to bear fruit.

i respect how every night, carolina hurricanes fans unapologetically root for whichever team in the sabres-canadiens series will help carry the series to game 7.
tagged by @fervent-bookwomb | thank you, this was fun! i forgot how fun these tag games are
last song: i've got a song that was on the radio all the time in like 2007 in my head and i don't even know what it's called or who sang it and i could look up the lyrics of the chorus to change this but i will not be doing this at this time <3 ! i haven't been listening to as much music lately bc the IEMs i got seem to need an... inline attenuator? because the... gain staging???? is really efficient and they drive WAY too much sound to plug into my phone with a normal dongle. audiophiles rescue me please
currently watching: Heated Rivalry and soooooo much Antiques Roadshow
currently reading: i have Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt sitting on my nightstand but i have not started it
currently obsessed: it's waning now but once free agency started the NHL offseason had me fucking checking /r/hockey like a 1970s businessman reading the morning newspaper. Leo Carlsson offer sheet, Connor Bedard once again in torture city, Dylan Larkin v. Steve Yzerman and the entire city of Detroit, Habs making cap management and talent retainment look easy, Gleb,
...also… the heated rivalry characters are living in the rock tumbler in my brain #myrocktumbler. i had to move the obsession into the sideblog @neolithique or i’d be fucking blasting everyone’s dashboards
currently working on: honestly after typing that "last song" section it's learning the vocabulary surrounding audio equipment. i feel like i snuck into a class where i have none of the prerequisite credits and i just got put in a group project.
last search: "historic boudoir photographers" the rock tumbler will lead you into some interesting places
favorite flower: heirloom peonies #mypeonies
no pressure but it's fun to get into the Old Tumblr spirit. my retroactive new years resolution has been to be more actively participating in my social media sphere. tagging a bunch of new mutuals and some frequent faces - i'm always happy to see you on the dash and in my activity :)
idk when to stop so i just let it rip with tagging people lol. seriously though no pressure but also if you want to come play with me my mom says i can stay out until dinner...
the paleoanthropology findings coming out of china continue to be fascinating and absolutely captivating for the imagination. the fuck do you mean the yunxian homo erectus skulls are 1.77 million years old. 2.1 million year old stone tools predating the earliest african homo erectus/ergaster and still no idea who made them.
