Scully was exhausted, the baby was very active that day and was keeping her distracted from doing things.
"Oh, Bubba, I know you're running out of space there, but go easy on Mama please." She plead to her belly and somehow the baby settled for a bit; giving her little kicks instead that made Scully smile.
"Thank you." She whispered before rubbing her belly and returned to her task of folding onesies and baby blankets.
It was Valentine's Day. Probably the most cheesiest, most ridiculous holiday in Scully's opinion, but she won't deny how much she loved receiving little gifts from Mulder throughout the years they've been together — whether as coworkers or life partners. She loved receiving cards that had little notes from him that would make her laugh and lean in to kiss him on the cheek, or the sunflowers he'd give her (because roses are a bit overrated, and Scully deserves something special).
She was folding the last onesie her mom gave her for the baby when Mulder arrived at the apartment. He was armed with a bouquet of sunflowers and a little bouquet of baby's breath. Her breath hitched when she spotted them.
"Hey," he greeted, approaching her on the couch and pressing a kiss on her head. "How are you?"
"Hi. I'm good. We're good." She smiled up to him, her hand going to her belly. Her eyes darted to the flowers.
Mulder chuckled and rounded the couch, and sat next to her. He set the flowers on the coffee table, alongside a card he pulled out from his jacket pocket.
"Hi, Bubba." He whispered to her belly and gave it a lil rub. "Daddy's got you and mommy some gifts."
He laughed when he felt a kick against her palm.
"Like mother, like daughter." He teased, and Scully playfully smacked his shoulder.
He kissed her cheek and grabbed the flowers off the table.
"For the mama," he said, first handing the sunflowers, "and for the Bubba." He finished, handing Scully the baby's breath.
Scully's eyes watered and she let out a sniffle.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome, and happy Valentine's day." Mulder said, kissing her this time on the lips. "Now, for the most awaited card." He gave her wink and she giggled.
He took the card from the table and gave it to her. The front cover had two aliens exchanging a heart.
'To my alien baby baby mama and alien baby, Happy Valentine's Day! I love you both so much, my heart is so full by the invasion of your love.
Love,
Mulder/Dada'
Scully was full on crying after reading the card and she flung herself to Mulder's arms, hugging him tight even though her belly was getting in the way between them.
"We love you, too." She said and kissed him. "Now, for your Valentine's Day gift..." She prompted, a sly smile on her face.
"Lead the way." Mulder told her and helped her up from the couch.
She pulled on his hand as they walked towards the bedroom.
"You're gonna love it." Scully said, winking at him
"I'm a lucky man." Mulder muttered as he shut the door close.
