In class we viewed a documentary called Helvetica, it’s about a typeface or font created in Switzerland in the late 1950s by now old men. It’s one of the most popular typeface used in the world, and it’s very popular in North America.

I found this documentary very interesting because typefaces are one of those things that are literally around us yet barely pay any attention to. I personally do notice different typefaces and I find interesting different fonts used in different place, however I don’t obsess over it. What was intriguing about the documentary was the way the people were obsessed with typefaces, and how it was a lifelong dedication for them.

I learn quite a few things from documentary, for instance I didn't know the difference between serif and san serif typefaces. After I watched the documentary I noticed Helvetica is EVERYWHERE. Now I am more aware of the style of typefaces around me and I'm forced to pay attention. 

It’s interesting how some things  that may seem insignificant to us are people’s hard work and life dedication, so in reality everything is truly significant, because we are apart of it or we are users of it.
