So does anyone remember The Giver movie where they randomly aged Jonas up to 18 when he’s 12 in the books and that’s Very Important?
Because I just thought of it again after years. Because I write a book series about a boy who’s 12 and that’s Very Important. There is such an astronomical difference between 12 and 18 it’s insane.
José has a big furnished bedroom where he never sleeps, but it's used for other matters. For the day sleep, he has a separate room, it's relatively small with no windows because even the best blinders can be deceitful. Its door opens with the combination lock, and the keypads are on both sides of the wall near the door. In the middle of the room stands what looks like a very advanced meat fridge. It has a vacuum cover with the same type of code lock. It keeps the inner temperature around 0°C (32°F). He can stay outside of it for the day, but it's safer and more refreshing. The code on the door and the lid is a set of Roman numbers and one letter, and basically, it's his own birthday, January 19th, 1492 - XIXEMCDXCII, where E stands for Enero. When he's home alone (or with someone he trusts) the door to this room is usually open until he needs to go there for the day.
