Ouroboros, Post-Aionios Designs!
Happy 4th Anniversary to Xenoblade Chronicles 3!!
To celebrate, I made some post-Aionios designs for Ouroboros. Some of these *were* a bit last minute but they're just concepts so its nothing too bad.
Alternates (without sleeves, jackets, pantlegs)
The main idea was that I wanted to keep certain elements that made them look iconic (Taion's scarf, Eunie's kicks, Lanz's fuzzy collar, etc.), while emphasizing the color, creativity, and freedom of expression that their world now allows. The bleak conformity of Aionios is behind them in more ways than one. For example:
- Lanz having looser, more comfortably fitting clothes that he can change on the fly. Like the cargo pants that can turn into shorts, or a bigger tanktop he can tuck, untuck, half-tuck, tie at the waist, etc.
- It's a similar case for Taion, where it's sort of similar to how he looked in Aionios, but overall more relaxed and casual. He's still very neat and tidy looking regardless.
I used some patterns and designs from their respective cultures and backgrounds. Some even referencing other characters (Leftherian patterns on Taion's clothes, Mòrag and Brighid things for Sena, Gormotti patterns + Nia and Rex references on Mio, Machina and Colony 9 patterns on Lanz, etc.)
One thing I made sure they all had in common with each other is having a red thread somewhere on their person. It shows how they're still bound by fate to see each other again :)
Another thing is that I wanted each person to have some amount of their Ouroboros partner's colors included somewhere on their designs, so there's another form of connection there. (Yellow on Noah, Red on Mio, Orange on Eunie, Lime on Taion, Blue on Lanz, Teal Green on Sena)
Final little inclusion is their unique signatures. I dunno. Cute little throwaway for characterization's sake
I have a few more outfits planned for Ouroboros sometime in the future. Next up are school uniforms, then loungewear, sportswear, and winter clothes. I also may do other Xenoblade characters, not just these six! Joran and Miyabi are gonna come after, then Shulk, Rex, their families, and eventually rare blades, heroes, and important side characters.
I just love imagining what their lives would be like after all of the trauma and pain they endured. im even writing a post-aionios fanfic series but thats a story for another time
Aaaand that's basically it! I hope y'all enjoy! Lemme know what you think of these, along with any ideas you might have. I'm dying for more fashion concepts and thoughts on character design since I'm still relatively new to doing something like this. Pretty big leap for me but i'm pretty proud of it :D
