Black Sails says that we do not have to go gentle. Black Sails says that we may lose. We may become contorted both by our traumas and by the tales that people tell about us. We may do wrong. We may be flawed. We may be unhappy. But in the face of all that, we still deserve our stories; it is a validation that our rage is worth something, that our loves and our identities are not the real villains.
