"Denny Cascade" by Denzel Curry prod. by Freebase, POSHtronaut, & Denzel Curry
Yes, Denzel Curry is in fact one of the best rappers on the come up in 2013, but we all already knew that. The real surprise here, on Curry's latest single, is how impressive and mature the production is. While "Threatz", "N64", and "Live This Shit" all had incredible beats, they all sounded, to me, like beats you'd hear every other member of Raider Klan on. With "Denny Cascade" though, I think Curry has really found his own unique sound. The combination of the jazzy piano sample with the same trap-y drums of previous Curry tracks makes for a beat that's unique enough to fit Curry's specific vibe, yet still retain a bit of his older sound. I had high hopes for "N64" before, but if Curry continues to expand on the type of production found on this track, then he really may end up being the biggest underground artist going into 2014.
