Hey Everybody! Please, welcome my new portfolio, I made it in Procreate! I’ve just used ipad pro 4 month ago, but I love it, and I’ve learnt a lot of new tricks what is useful in Ps too. :)
Research into showreels-
Looking more into showreels I decided to look into what websites say about the do’s and don’ts of creating one. I discovered this website - http://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/demo-reel-showreel-tips/
A lot of the tips and hints they offer are what I have found to be true when researching other showreels, for example they say adding short references or tags add to an effective showreel to show off your skills and clients you have worked with.
How To Build The Perfect Showreel
01. Cut ruthlessly
02. Keep it short
03. Start and end well
04. Think of it as an ad
05. Match your reel to the vacancy/studio
06. Make your role clear
07. Show your workings
08. Keep things simple
09. Technique beats originality
These are just some examples I found of what makes the perfect showreel to show case your work. I honestly believe that by incorporating these ideas/thoughts into your showreel can improve it drastically if you haven’t already. For example if your showreel is not clear or simple it will create confusion for your viewer when watching. Which is why for my own showreel I plan to keep it ‘short but sweet’ including only my best work. Im even thinking of creating my own logo for my name as many animators are often producing them to brand themselves.

I finish work this friday, and I legit just got hired to do photos at a family reuinion! Someone happened to see my pictures on facebook, the way I did a few family photos for someone, and she messaged me to do her family reuinion! For 200$! For like 3 hours worth of work I enjoy doing anyways!
I'm seriously beyond excited about this right now.
This gives me extra stuff for my portfolio, here's hoping that I can get into architecture school! :)

It's been forever since I've actually posted, blech. Schools been keeping me ridiculously busy. Since I'm in the midst of working on several large projects at once I'm going to be expanding my blog-sphere and I'm moving my more business-e type things onto a word press blog. Also i've purchased a domain!
