After much consideration and thought, i have decided to close the Portcraft for now. It will most likely reopen at some time, but for now it's just going to be a private server. I've decided this because no one really cares and no one goes on the server ever. I guess it's due to how the server always had problems that were out of my control to fix. I being the sole admin, the only person who did anything for the server. But now i'm just fed up with always going on the server for hours just to see no one else on, or if someone comes on they leave after a couple of minutes.. It was fun in it's short heyday, but now it's just tiring and annoying.

We will most likely come back under a new name, after some things are sorted out. until then, this blog will be Minecraft reblogs and occasional pics from the server. So goodbye for now :')

I'm really sorry if you are having difficulties. I really do try and get everything right beforehand. and i really didn't expect anyone on, since we have been having such a dry spell, and my moderators are both having computer issues. But i thank you for giving my server a chance. And i say my server because there really isn't anyone else working on it but me. From advertising, to under the hood server stuff, to just being on, waiting for players, it's a lot! So thank you for telling me what the problem was! I will be adding the back command (i don't know why it didn't occur to me to add it before, heh). I hope you continue to come onto the server :)

Hello, and welcome to the Portcraft News! Today we are going to discuss why exactly the server has not been correct with permissions since day one, and plans going forward now that we are starting to put all of that behind us.

The server has always had technical problems. Permissions were not being worked with properly by the program called McMyAdmin, which I use to delegate permissions and groups. This is a problem that was not due to user error, it was a problem on the technical side, which I have no control over. Finally tired of looking for something impossible for me to find, I went to my server host's support team for help. They have been helpful, working tirelessly trying to help me fix my problem. 

Thankfully, as of this post, permissions in all worlds except the nether and end work correctly now. And we believe that we have the reason for the nether and end not working, so that should be the next thing fixed. And now i have new plans for the server!

First, I now consider the last month or so the "Beta Stages" of the server. I'm thinking of making a new rank "Beta Tester", for people who still frequented the server through all the troubles. Just as a special thank you for sticking with me. It will come with other perks as well.

This also means that going forward, we will be going into the official (re)launch of the server! How exiting. After the (re)launch, changes will be at a minimum. I'm pretty sure that we have everything that we want. I will perhaps make a list of all the plugins on the server at a later time, so that everyone is clear on what we have.

For the launch, spawn is being moved yet again. but this time to a new world! One full of trees and limitless possibility! there are also new rules regarding spawn. From now on, you have to have special permission from either one of the mods or myself (the admin) to build in the spawn area. Also, there's the replant rule for forests. if you chop down a tree, you have to replant it unless you plan to claim that land! Keep the forest full for your fellow players!

Hello, and welcome to the Portcraft news! The past week has been rather taxing, to say the least. With the first seasonal event coming up, I have been working furiously with my server host's support to fix the problems with permissions in worlds other than Portey. I feel that we are really close to having this whole thing sorted out! Remember, it is just primarily one person doing everything, so please be patient with me.

But! We do have some pretty great things planned for when we get everything rocking and rolling! We will open a donations store, so that you can trow money at me to fund the server and get cool things in game, such as items and the fabulous ~VIP Ranks~. As a VIP, you will have access to special areas, new commands, and special rewards! The packs you can buy will be defined in the store, which is still under construction as of this post.

There are many things planned for the future, after this whole mess is cleared up! First, we will be moving spawn yet again! And the newest spawn will be in a whole new world! Of course, there will be ways to go back and forth from the old world and the new one. But for a new world with a new spawn, we need new people! That's why I encourage you to tell your friends about us! Because the more the merrier! Also, there will be events going on, such as building contests, scavenger hunts, and much more! So get excited!

Today in server news:

For those who didn't know, we now have Towny! How exiting! You can now choose between Factions and Towny, to better offer whatever experience you would Prefer. 

We also now have Citizens, a plugin which allows the creation of custom npcs! We are still tweaking around with it, and no one other than the mods/admin are allowed to make one. You can request one for your store/fortress/town/ect, but they cost a pretty penny!

The nether is now able to be interacted with! You can now harvest nether materials yourself.

The Halloween building contest has been postponed until Wednesday next week, due to issues.

Hi! I Have a minecraft server called The Portcraft. Only a couple of people come on nowadays, so I was looking to see if anyone else would be interested in coming on and joining the server! It's a bukkit survival server with towny, factions, and economy. There's even a nice little spawn area set up. it's a 1.6.2 server.

Today in server news:

We enter day five of maintenance. This really isn't even routine, this is to fix a major issue going on on the server regarding permissions. We once again apologize for any and all inconveniences. This is just as frustrating for us as it is for you.

But in better news, the issue has been isolated and all the plugins have been re enabled.

Plans for a new area for regulars and newbies alike is in the works. It will be a new warp accessible on warp walls when it is finished.
