Perfect drip. I love it when a plan comes together. 💧 My catch plates are just a groggy clay (Death Valley here) rolled out thin, cut, rolled out more (because you can get a small piece much thinner than a large slab) and then dried between two pieces of drywall. They can be bisqued before use, but they can also be put directly in the glaze fire. I get a number of uses out of each one. You can see from the color changes where prior pots have rested that this one has been used a few times. Interesting how different they look without a handle. This was one of my first tall mugs, so I didn’t attach a handle because I was just testing the drip points. But without a handle, you actually hold the texture area, as intended in my work. Hmmmmm. Ideas spinning. . In the mean time, mugs (with handles) are drying for next weekend’s firing.
