Populations.
Im probably going to get so much backlash for this. Who am I kidding? No I'm not. Since when do any of you care or notice me? But never mind. Human beings are ________. If you filled that blank with the word "animal" then you are correct. since we evolved from monkeys, we have been animals. Until we can build a hard drive we can download our consciousness onto, we are going to continue being animals. What do animals need to survive? Food source, water, and favourable living conditions. And what do these things control? Population sizes, yes that's correct! Well done! If a snowshoe hair populous has a rapid expansion, due to more food, or more habitat, then great for them. But the population boom is going to end pretty quickly when they run out of space, and there isn't any food left, and predators, (example: Lynx) have their way. Which coincidentally are going to rise in numbers, because they have more food, and then fall again, because the prey populous has fallen. What I'm trying to get at here, is that we as humans are animals. Unfortunately for us, we have become smart, and have found ways to make more food, and protect ourselves from deadly diseases, and protect ourselves from thing that would want to eat us (we aren't, by any stretch of the imagination, the top rung of the food chain, just think about lions or bears or snakes, or Komodo dragons, or spiders or crocodiles/alligators etcetera) meaning that we as a species are going to keep growing, because we are constantly cutting off ways we can die, and people keep having children. Maybe if people limited it to 2 maybe 3 children, that would slowly increase the population, and we could find better ways to deal, but no, when some families have upto 12 children, thats just ridiculous. The earth doesn't seem to have evolved to hold this many people. The amount of energy we need to sustain our population has caused global warming, and global warming is the earth hitting back. So what do we need? We need humans to come under some sort of massive death toll, we need humans to stop having over the top amounts of children. We need some way of not reaching 9billion humans by 2050. Because in my opinion? There is a ball of rock hurtling through space, that is just going to get more and more crowded. And more and more hostile, because it has to put up with the crowding.
