Hate to say it, but I feel like Stucky was better written. I mean, we knew they’d never end up together, but the rep was still there nonetheless. But with Byler, we ALL had hope that they’d end up together in the end, and then that was ripped away from us. The signs were there, the tension, the queer coding? Then the duffers went and fucked it all up, claiming it was “noise” that had to be blocked out.
With Stucky, we always knew they’d never end up with each other, but even then the representation was there and palpable. They never gave us false hope or baited us into thinking “Oh, yeah. They’re definitely endgame”.
The duffers did us dirty in so many ways. I’d have rather them just spit on me and called me slurs at that point.
This made more sense in my mind, I’m horrible at explaining things but… I just needed a small rant.
