Summary: The enterprise make first contact with a new species but immediately insult them. As they figure out why, an alien parasite makes its way onboard from the other ship and begins assimilating crew members. Eventually the other aliens return demanding an apology and the enterprise asks them where the parasite came from. It’s actually a super intelligent creature that makes up 100% of the intelligent life on its planet, and is basically holding the crew hostage until it was returned home. This planet is clearly home to intelligent and communicable life but it’s so otherworldly that the crew has no choice but to leave it alone. Is this the last we see of this creature?Â
