Whumptober day 1: "Race against the clock"
Her breath came out in short gasps against the piece of cloth covering her mouth. She couldn't get enough air, no matter how hard she tried. Her arms and legs had gone numb, which fortunately meant that she could not longer feel the ropes digging into her wrists and ankles. Her vision blurred with tears and her head spun. All she could hear was the the clock towering behind her, each deafening tick counting off another second from her life.
She was going to die. She knew it. She had made peace with it.
So why was she still shaking?
