LURLEY SEILYE is Plagaris' up and coming Golden social climber—at work and at play. Between a cushy corporate data processing job and a moderately successful hobby with online shortform content, she finds herself typically surrounded by Teals and Blues. After not fitting in with fellow Golds due to missing the characteristic psionic trait of the caste, she decided to work her way upwards using a nosy knack for networking. Still dissatisfied by her disconnection to everything around her and a seeming inability to make bonds outside of this, she copes through more than occasionally upsetting one night stands, reading and writing real troll fanfiction, and constructing her own intense narratives of strangers’ lives. These are her regular people watching sessions, all recorded without the permission, consent, or knowledge of the random passerby. Really, she’s just like any other normal, modern woman sitting alone on a street bench with her designer sunglasses, mink coat, and martini to-go.
POMENE ALECTO is the Cupbearer, a high official of the Church of the Chalice, the most prominent sect in the expansive Purple religious landscape of Plagaris. She is the inheritor of a notorious lineage characterized by a genetic quirk that produces hatched twins—and further by the proclamation of an ancestor that only one half of each twinned set can ultimately survive. Outside of serving the sacramental blood during services, she is also the confessor of the Church: confession, of which leads to ultimate castigation if a soul is deemed past reconciliation in life. Her inherited manipulative psychic abilities that invoke madness along with her flattened affect make her adept at this role. Secluded within the world of the Church since hatching and with her former twin long beheaded, she comes off as strange, inscrutable, and naïve to those outside its highest circles. Yet, many claim to experience a faint draw to her in spite of these traits.
