The not so nice part of Kathmandu... I'm not sure if these areas along the river are actually designated as slums, or if it's just how everyone refers to these outskirts. The river that was once flowing is almost stagnant, and the trash piles up litterally to people's back-door. Waste management is clearly a problem in this country, and proper disposal and recycling facilities are desperately needed. You can't help but sympathize when people complain about the government's corruption and neglect.
