#pole tricks

focusing on intention, presence, and completion.

i shall do 5 favourite pole tricks (that i can actually do). caveat - spin tricks are much easier to show a visual of but i am a static girlie these days! so sorry! also i'm sorry it took me a while to answer this - i needed to source some pics (these are not of me mind you - these are random google searches):

1. static flares, particularly the double/triple combos I can do. they make me feel SO STRONG (I can't visual this - you just gotta believe me haha)

2. my butterfly and sneaky v flips - i can do them super high up on the pole and they're SO DYNAMIC and fun (unfortunately also can't visualise this without showing a video SO SORRY).

3. inverted eagle/cocoon (just realised this girl has only one hand on - not my style, lady. two hands at all times!)

4. satellite (my back leg is very bent i am not as flexible as this girl)

5. the humble ayesha (so versatile, so useful)

That was the phrase that popped into my head when I saw these beautiful shots from @denyerpro when I did a photoshoot at @addictivefitness.co.uk

Pole dancing has improved my physical and mental health but it also helped relieve some of my gender dysphoria by being able to be unapologetically me, I know other trans+ people also enjoy pole dancing but we are never represented in pole dancing spaces (and don’t get me started on trans s*x workers and people of colour in this space being unrepresented too!) so this trans awareness week let’s celebrate the under represented by being unapologetically our beautiful, powerful trans selves 🥰🏳️‍⚧️💕
