Old village of Poffabro is like an town-size museum in the heart of the Colvera valley. Visitors can find its rustic charm everywhere, in the old stone houses or the wooden balconies…Â
Today I visited Poffabro for the first time (despite it being literally 15min by car from one of my many homes), and I think I fell in love with it:)

Canon Powershot SX730 HS Taken on 19/04/2017. Italy offers visitors an abundance of charming villages both South and North — and Friuli Venezia Giulia is no exception to that, boasting 13 villages that have been listed as 'the most beautiful in Italy'. Here are some photos I took back in 2017 during my Easter break in Friuli Venezia Giulia showing Poffabro, an ancient village nestled in the heart of 'Val Colvera' ('Colvera Valley') that lies in the 'Parco Naturale Dolomiti Friulane' ('The Natural Park of the Friulian Dolomites'). And as you can see in the last two photos, the mountains are incredibly striking in their unique rock formation. Poffabro felt like an open-air museum to me. I enjoyed wandering around the long rows of stone houses with brown wooden shutters and balconies, which gave a peaceful sense of intimacy and warmth. The humble yet beautiful stone arches, pillars and stairs for me encompassed the natural beauty of the village. What's more, I didn't find any tourists here; it was as if the village belonged to me! If you fancy visiting this village steeped in history, first you will need to take a bus from Pordenone to Maniago ('ATAP' line 13 or 14). Then, take a bus to Poffabro (line 31). I only had 50 minutes to visit Poffabro — that's how tough it is to get there! Hopefully bus services have improved since then, so make sure you look up the up-to-date bus timetables on the ATAP website, www.atap.pn.it. ________________________________________ #poffabro #ig_pordenone #borghiditalia #borghiitaliani #borghipiubelliditalia #alluring_villages #divine_villages #kings_villages #italianvillages #prettylittleitaly #italia #italy #ilikeitaly #treasureitaly #friuliveneziagiulia #ig_friuli_vg #fvglive #yallersfriuliveneziagiulia #ig_italia #yallersitalia #travelgramitalia #ripartiamodallitalia #ftoitalia #besttravelpics #viaggiainitalia #volgoitalia #volgofriuliveneziagiulia #travelblogger #flashback #italyiloveyou (at Poffabro, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_RjWOAolQy/?igshid=22c4f1qu3qys
