Merlin is bored.
There is a lot to do here--exploration of the Seas, reading books in the library, pestering the pesky AIs--but none of it is appealing for too long, and there are only so many hours of the day Merlin can while away fruitlessly. Back in Avalon, when things got like this, he would turn his eyes to the outside world, using his clairvoyance to observe things on Earth--but that isn’t an option here.
So Merlin is currently languishing in his bed, scrolling through the contacts list on his holophone. He’s seen technology like this in use by humans before, and in his brief stint in Chaldea he’d played with Romani’s uPad (without permission, naturally), but this is the first time he’s had such a device to himself, or really used one properly. It’s curious. Perhaps he can create a nice diversion for himself...
Selecting a contact at random, Merlin begins composing a quick message.
Hello! Citizen! It is I, the Wizard of Oz.
He chews on the inside of his cheek for a bit, debating whether or not to add more. But he decides short and sweet is best, so he hits send, tapping at a mindless game while he waits for his target to reply.
