I am BEGGING someone out there to listen to pod115, it's second season was released today and it's so good. an engaging plot where these college kids are doing a podcast as a project but start getting these weird signals and that leads to a "horrifying discovery in the desert". there's mystery, and it would maybe fall under the horror/sci-fi category, i think? (im bad with genres don't trust me) + it has rep. (poc + lgbt + neurodivergent characters, explicitly stated) and I absolutely adore the characters, it's funny & it's easily bingeable and it's one of those few podcasts I've listened to more than once.
you can find the links to their show all on their website, but for even greater ease of access, I've got the main platforms here:
Spotify | Apple | Stitcher | YouTube
Hey!
I was thinking of listening to pod115 becuz the premise sounds pretty interesting..... And all that i could find abt it on here was ur post recommending it..... Sooo sorry to be a bother but could you just give me a basic idea of what I'd be going into??? Thanks so much!!
I'm not sure what kind of information you're looking for, and man, it's been awhile since I listened to the show so some details definitively escape me, but. It's more of an indie production with pretty good audio and great voice acting.
From what I remember, these college kids are making a podcast for school and not quite getting along, but this podcast gets these weird interruptions that leads them into investigating why. Definitely a company-is-keeping-secrets-from-us, someone-ends-up-getting-brainwashed, science-being-used-for-not-great-reasons sort of deal.
There are some audio distortions and general monster sfx. It starts out lighthearted/pretty mundane, but definitely ramps up, especially with the sci-fi element. I don't remember anything especially graphic, but there is death, can be unsettling/frightening (depending on your definitions). It's got a quick pace, short episodes with audio devices as a framing device, so you don't get anything outside of what would be recorded within the story. (I hope that makes sense)
And yeah! If you still have any questions or are looking for something more specific, feel free to ask :)
