A Recommendation
My first shopping preference is a small, family owned store.
Unfortunately, in my neighborhood the small, local photo retailer chain seems to have hired former PC network help desk employees to staff their âcustomer facingâ retail positions.
You remember, that condescending/smug combo platter schmuck, the type whose life I inevitability ended up threatening, leading to âunpleasantnessâ in the workplace.
Ahem. Moving on.
So bidding this latest crop of douchey-douchermen a not so fond farewell, I searched for an online alternative to Amazon, because fuck those people, too.
And, I found B&H. B&H Photo has an online store as well as a physical location in New York. They have friendly experts on staff. Quel concept as we say in France. They are untroubled by inquiries from photography novices like me, and they reply quickly to emails.
Their prices are good. Now, their shipping isn't free, but if you've dropping coin on a decent camera, is a few bucks for UPS gonna killya? Unlikely, and as I mentioned earlier, fuck Amazon Prime, because fuck âem.
These B&H folks are the real deal and I am a loyal customer. They are open for business every day except Saturday, in honor of their sabbath, which only makes me dig them even more.
