2. Which of your fics is your pride and joy?
Oh this is tough. i'm partial to this wilting world you've wed (Jamie the gardener character study) mostly because of how i felt while I was writing it. I do have to give a shout-out to biting down (mcvadi cannibalism au) because of how gleeful I was writing it. It literally brought me back to writing fiction.
17. What do you struggle with most when writing?
Honestly? Impatience. I write something in a fugue state and send it out to the universe when I really should be a) letting it simmer, and b) editing maybe even a little bit. It's a miracle I'm a good writer despite my bad habits.
23. Whatâs a story youâd love to write but havenât even started yet?
I would really love to revisit Arlo Black (I MISS HER!!!!) and write a full mystery surrounding her stay at a sanatorium after her corruption from Bleed is too obvious for her to continue as an investigator. I've thought about it a lot, but I feel like the ship has sailed.
24. Do you ever âprepâ your fics with outlines or warmups before you start writing, or do you just dive right in? DIVE RIGHT IN, BAYBIEE. I like to think of my writing like crystal formation. I write a sentence I like, often smack in the middle of the story I want to tell, and sort of write outward in all directions from that point. It's always SUPER exciting for me when people vibe with the sentence that was the seed for my story.
30. Have you noticed your style change over time? Oh absolutely. My earlier fic style was a lot more experimental, especially with form/structure. There are echoes of it in my writing still, in terms of rhythm, repetition, and an unshakable love for parentheticals, but I'm much more straightforward in my writing now.
