I think this trend is neat :)

After Candace retires from the Resistance in “Tales from the Resistance: Back to the 2nd Dimension”, a younger yet well-experienced member from another sector of the Resistance takes her place: Melissa Chase. Just as much as her predecessor, Melissa is determined to stop the Doofenshmirtz family from retaking over the Tri-State Area, but she’s also aware of something she’s confident the family will utilize to regain their dictatorship, a project called the Murphy Experiment.

In case of emergency, Doof created the Murphy Experiment, a project designed to capture the Murphy men and harness their Murphy’s Law curse. This involved turning them into cyborgs to obey his command and be acceptable of their torture and use. The youngest victim, Milo Murphy, was a young friend of Melissa’s, and she blames herself for not preventing his capture.

Melissa worries that Doof will finally unleash the Murphy Experiment on the Tri-State Area to cause horrific chaos and retake it, so she plans a mission to stop the Doofenshmirtz familly from succeeding and bring justice to the Murphyborgs, just as the Resistance had for most of the O.W.C.A. agents-turned-cyborgs. Her team involves already established Resistance members, including Phineas and Ferb, but her closest members are MML characters like Bradley, Amanda, and Mort. Zack Underwood, a kid who moved to Danville post-Doof, also gets pulled into the danger an assists the Resistance.

Other notes of importance:

- Mrs. Murphy and Sara are still alive and weren’t bothered by Doof during his reign (other than being heavily monitored), but they were heartbroken of the enslavement of their loved ones and hoped that they were still alive. After Doof’s imprisonment, they searched for evidence of the Murphy men, and when they find out by Melissa the truth, they are determined to help her in any way, Sara joining the Resistance, and they intend to reunite with their restored family members.

- The Murphyborgs are programmed to follow orders under Doofenshmirtz, and they rarely speak. Milo Murphy, however, being the youngest and most affected by Murphy’s Law, glitches often, which temporarily brings back some of his original memories and personality. He thinks being a cyborg is cool (1st Dimension Milo did want to be a robot when he grew up when he was little), but he wants his freedom and wants to stop Doof from abusing Murphy’s Law and harming him and his family.
