I've been listening to Richard Teverson read the "House of Special Purpose" for a week or two now. He is super soothing to listen to, which I find I need now. (The book is good, too, but lbh I was here for Quinn reading to me.) One unexpected upside of this is that I am very impressionable, sound-wise, and my internal reading voice has begun to sound like Teverson. Which means when I go back and read my own fic, I read it in Richard Teverson's voice in my head. This has done nothing for my continued productivity but everything to inflate my writer's narcisissm. Because any writing sounds at least 50% better when read with an intimate, posh British voice.
