âA carâŚ?â â she asked surprised â âOh! You mean that blue one which driver had just honked at meâŚ? I agree. Itâs totally unacceptable. How did they even get a driving-license!?â â indeed, it was not just her pose. Nunnally truly didn't see anything inherently w r o n g with her attitude. She just crossed the road. Close to the zebra-crossing in fact.
âOhâŚ!â â these were perhaps Lukanâs next words that made her realize that he was worried (yet not that she might have been in a real danger though) â âSo, you wouldnât like me getting hurtâŚâ â she joked taking his arm; brushing his true concerns off as she was so used to do, when things were becoming uncomfortable for her. Â
âOh, I hope you donât mindâŚâ â her head pointing to his arm; not that Nunnally expected heâd d e c l i n e (or complain), but she wasnât taking that chance either. She wanted to spend some time with him, outside the professional settings. And she suddenly and unexpectedly got her chance, and she was not to let it go.
âOf course you can!â â she laughed gently â âThough donât expect I accept your every suggestion.â â yes, she knew she was attempting to flirt with her therapist, but she didnât care. If sheâs forced to quit the therapy to date this man, she would do it without a second of thinking! What an unexpected development!
âNo, of course I donât want you to be moody and awkward.â â Nunnally shook her head; her blond locks dancing around her shoulders â âBrunch it is. You choose the place.â â she agreed without waiting for the explanation to follow. She didnât really expect one, but Lukan did deliver it.Â
She tightened her grip on his arm. As if she wanted to reassure him: --
âIâŚI apologize Lukan. I didnât know that. I wouldnât have asked if I knew.â â she wanted to ask him what bakery belonged to his family. Ad where it is⌠And perhaps more importantly, why he wouldnât take her there. But she did not. Instead, she opted for some honesty.
âPerhaps one day youâll take me to that bakery. But I am well aware it is not going to be today.â
âSo where are we heading?â
