Going off the trails had always been a good way for Saima to truly connect with the places that they roamed. For as much as they enjoyed following the pathway to the end, going off of them often led to even more connection with any given wood. Besides, they were confident that the trees, the flora would always lead them back to where they were supposed to be.
It was while lurking and feeling the ground against them that Saima sensed the presence of someone else starting to head in this direction. They were curious about who they were but wanted to wait for a moment. So they remained quite as they walked around the clearing, keeping an eye out for the person whose presence they were aware of.
Still, as they waited, Saima was continued to run their hands along the trees, studying the feel of their old plant friends. Listening to the stories that they told. So many lessons came from nature, it was one of the teachers that Saima would always return to no matter how much they learned about ācivilizationā and the implications of its changes.
It was with that knowledge in mind that they rested against a tree for a few moments, keeping an eye out as the footsteps got closer. Hearing the man speak to himself, they couldnāt help but smile a bit to themself in response.Ā How were they going to make their presence known? That was the question that was running through their mind.
Saima had decided to just move quickly to get a head of the man so that he could potentially pass them by in the clearing.
And hearing a voice drift towards his way probably would do the trick well enough.
āHeh. A few lefts and a right is always how those sort of trips tend to start, isnāt it?ā They lightly teased, suggesting that they had very much heard him.
