This beautiful gown was first seen on Maggie Smith as Portia in the 1972 adaptation of William Shakespeare’s 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒆 for BBC’s Play of the Month.   The costume was used again in the long-running television series 𝑫𝒐𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒐, where it was worn by Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith in the 14th season episode 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒂 in 1976.   Follow us for more gorgeous gowns!
